Biography: Annie Ruth Taylor Byrd passed into Eternal Rest at the age of 89 in Birmingham, AL on November 8th, 2020 at approximately 6:30pm.  She was born in Jena, LA to John Marion Taylor and Elizabeth (Lola) Beck Taylor, and spent her childhood in the communities of Belah and Fellowship, LA.

Annie attended college at Northwestern State College in Natchitoches, LA where she attained a Bachelor's Degree in Education and Home Economics.  After college, she obtained employment with the State of Louisiana working in Vocational Rehabilitation in Alexandria, LA and Shreveport, LA where she remained until retirement.

Her Christian Faith led her to serve by taking care of the youngest in the nurseries at Horseshoe Drive Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA, Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA, and Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea, AL.  She was a grandmother to hundreds, if not thousands, over the years...and loved every one of them.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Lola, brother John Marion Taylor Jr, and sister Marilyn Elaine Taylor.

Graveside services will be performed at Woodland Memorial Park in Jena, LA, by longtime friend and counselor, Brother Billy Crosby, Pastor Emeritus of Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. Burial will be next to her mother and father.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Liberty Baptist Church Preschool Ministry or Widow's Might Ministry, 11050 Chelsea Road, Chelsea, AL 35043

A Celebration Memorial Service is tentatively scheduled in Chelsea, Alabama, at Liberty Baptist Church on Saturday, November 21, at 10:00
