Biography: A Celebration of Life for Joshua George Griggs, 39, of Kona, HI, will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 400 Mane Street, West Monroe. Masks are suggested.
Josh was born on August 11, 1982 in West Monroe, LA to George Griggs and Kim Nolan, and passed away on December 16, 2021 in Kona, HI. Josh welcomed everyone into his life and will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality and infectious smile. His love for family and friends ran deep, especially his love for niece Landry and nephew Nash.
Five years ago, Josh was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He knew that his time on earth was limited, but he was determined to live life to the fullest. His love for the beach guided him from Gulf Shores to Hawaii, where he spent each day taking in the beauty of his surroundings. Some of his favorite things to do were spearfishing, surfing, scuba diving, hiking, and watching the sea turtles. He took a different route home each day, finding new places to spend watching the sunset. These special moments offered him peace and perspective.
In order to honor Josh, his family will be wearing Hawaiian shirts and invite you to do the same. He is preceeded in death by his grandparents C.B. (Buddy) and Jean Griggs and Bill Nolan.

His family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and staff at Kona Community Hospital for the loving care, help and guidance during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association. There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind. C.S. Lewis A hui hou – Until we meet again.
