Biography: Morrow - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Callie Marie Thibodeaux Richard on Monday, September 27, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Morrow, La.  Father Donavan Labbe will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Peters Church Cemetery.
Callie Marie Thibodeaux Richard, age 92, passed away peacefully at 12:45 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021, at her home in Lemoyen, La.
Callie was born on March 6, 1929, in Church Point, La. to Demas and Emethilde Thibodeaux.  She was raised in Church Point and later moved to Garland where she met and married Lee L. on January 8, 1949, and moved to Lemoyen and started their family.
The whole neighborhood was Callie's family, there was no such thing as a stranger to her.  After raising her own nine kids, she watched them and helped them raise her 26 grandkids, 61 great-grandkids, and 14 great-great grand kids.  You could see the spark in her eye when she looked at all of her kids.  Even in her later days, she never lost that spark.
Callie lived her life with many titles: homemaker, mother, gardener, hairdresser, cook, and a seamstress.  Her hands were rarely still.  Every Sunday, you could find Callie sitting on side Lee L with a kitchen full of hungry family ready to eat whatever she cooked.  Callie owned and operated a restaurant called "Callie's" where she was the chef, "The Great Cook".  She enjoyed gardening, arts, crafts, sewing, reading, and spending time with her children.  When she could no longer use the lawn mower, you could find her in the yard with a pair of scissors cutting the grass.  She had a determination to live and there was no stopping her until she was ready.

Callie was preceded in death by her husband: Lee L. Richard
her parents: Demas and Emethilde Thibodeaux
her sisters: Una Lee Sylvester
Patsy Stelly
Bonnie Deshotels
Greta Brown.
her brothers: Overton Thibodeaux
Ray Thibodeaux
